ROCKLAND , Maine, May 19 (UPI) -- The late U.S. artist Andrew Wyeth's final painting, "Goodbye," is to be published for the first time in the 2009 edition of Island Journal.

The Journal is the Rockland, Maine, Island Institute's annual magazine. The new issue will be made available Saturday at a special event at the Institute honoring the artist, who died in January at the age of 91. The Wyeth family were founding members of the non-profit Institute.

"This last tempera, completed in October 2008, is the highlight of an extraordinary folio of Wyeth's Maine-island work featured in this year's expanded 25th anniversary edition of Island Journal," the Institute said in a news release Tuesday. "The folio is accompanied by an essay by Chris Crosman, former director of Rockland's Farnsworth Art Museum."
