Sources say ABC to revive 'V' of 1980s

LOS ANGELES, May 16 (UPI) -- The 1980s U.S. TV mini-series "V," about aliens who attempt to conquer Earth, may soon get a series order from ABC, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

The unidentified sources said the TV network is contemplating ordering an initial run of 13 episodes of a re-imagining of the action mini-series, which ran on NBC in 1984 and 1985.

The Reporter said in addition to considering "V," ABC is negotiating for a six-episode order of the 20th Television series "The Associates."

Meanwhile, ABC confirmed Friday it has renewed its fledgling comedy "Better Off Ted," a single-camera sitcom about life in the corporate world.

The series was paired this season with "Scrubs," which ABC also renewed for another season.

The Reporter said ABC is still considering orders for new pilots such as sitcoms "Hank," "The Middle" and "Romantically Challenged," along with the drama pilots "The Forgotten" and "Eastwick."
