Figures show Spears not limiting spending

LOS ANGELES, May 16 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Britney Spears spent millions of dollars over and above her hefty legal bills during a recent 11-month period, financial figures show.

E! Online reported Friday while Spears's legal fees tallied more than $3 million between Feb. 1 and Dec. 31 of 2008, the pop singer still spent millions more on personal and business expenses during that time period.

Among the legal fees the "Baby One More Time" singer paid out during those 11 months was $625,000 she was ordered to give rapper Kevin Federline as part of their divorce.

Nonetheless, Spears paid $105,000 to rent a home in Malibu, Calif., during that time period, while dishing out nearly $50,000 in home repairs and maintenance. An additional $285,594 was paid out for mortgage payments.

The pop star also spent $447,634 for security and $178,818 for childcare.

Spears paid nearly $189,000 to her assistants and other employees, and spent $1.06 million on so-called miscellaneous business expenses.
