LOS ANGELES, May 14 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian and TV personality Jay Leno said Thursday Conan O'Brien is scheduled to be his final guest on "The Tonight Show."
Leno's last episode as host of the late-night chat show is to be May 29.
O'Brien, who had previously appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" 16 times, will be taking over as host June 1.
The week leading up to Leno's finale will feature special guests and friends of the show including film star and director Mel Gibson on May 25; actor-turned-California-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger May 26;
comedian Wanda Sykes May 27; and funnyman Billy Crystal May 28, NBC said.
The musical guests for the week include Lyle Lovett, Dwight Yoakam, Sarah McLachlan, Prince and James Taylor.
In addition to the special guests, video packages honoring 17 years of moments, gaffes and laughs on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" will premiere throughout the week, the network said.
Leno has signed on to star in a new primetime, weeknight talk show on NBC starting this fall.
