Michael Landon's son Mark dead at 60

LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Mark Landon, eldest son of the late iconic television actor Michael Landon, was found dead in his West Hollywood, Calif., home, officials said. Landon was 60.

No cause for Landon's death has been disclosed, however, CNN reported foul play is not suspected.

His father, Michael Landon, is best known for his work on TV's "Bonanza," "Little House on the Prairie" and "Highway to Heaven." He adopted Mark after marrying his mother Dodie Frasier in 1956. Michael Landon died of cancer in 1991.

Mark Landon, whose body was discovered Monday afternoon, had bit parts in several movies, including "Us," a film his dad starred in and directed, CNN said.

Trump allows Miss California to keep crown

NEW YORK, May 12 (UPI) -- Donald Trump Tuesday announced he is allowing Miss California USA Carrie Prejean to keep her crown despite various controversies swirling around her.

Prejean, who describes herself as a devout Christian, drew both criticism and support last month when she answered a question during the Miss USA pageant on same-sex marriage and said she thinks marriage should be defined as a union between a man and a woman. After the pageant, revealing photos of Prejean were leaked on the Internet.

Trump, who is co-owner of the Miss USA pageant, said at a press conference in New York Tuesday that neither Prejean's opinions or photos should cost her the Miss California crown, People.com reported.

"She gave a very honest answer when asked a tough question," The Los Angeles Times quoted Trump as saying at the news conference with Prejean sitting by his side. "It was the same answer the president of the United States gave ... She has to be commended."

Referring to the sexy snapshots reportedly taken of Prejean before she won her Miss California title, Trump said: "We are in the 21st century. We have determined that the pictures taken were fine."

Boy George released from prison

LONDON, May 12 (UPI) -- Pop star Boy George has been released from Edmunds Hill Prison in Suffolk, England, after serving four months of a 15-month sentence for false imprisonment.

The BBC said the 47-year-old former Culture Club lead singer was met by friends when he was released from jail Monday.

The recording artist, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was sentenced in January to 15 months in prison for handcuffing a Norwegian male escort to a wall against his will in the pop star's apartment in London in 2007. O'Dowd has been ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device for the next 11 months as part of the terms of his early release from prison, the BBC said.

O'Dowd has defended his actions in the incident, saying he detained the other man because he stole photos from the singer's laptop computer.
