NEW YORK, May 10 (UPI) -- Michael Lang and Joel Rosenman, who helped produce the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, N.Y., say they remain split over a proposed anniversary concert.
The New York Times said Sunday while Lang, 64, remains convinced a concert should take place in 2009 to honor the 40th anniversary of the famed music event, Rosenman is adamant such an event should only take place under certain conditions.
"Woodstock is relevant on the anniversaries," Lang said of his proposal.
"If it's not the best lineup and the best setting and the right feeling about the community that develops," Rosenman, 66, offers in response, "we shouldn't have that event."
Both men agree their discussions over a 2009 Woodstock event remain divided over certain planning aspects, including what type of acts should perform and where the anniversary event of the rural festival should take place.
Rosenman and Lang, along with another original Woodstock partner's family, control Woodstock Ventures and all trademarks of the historic festival.
The Times said among the proposed sites for the anniversary events have been the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the site of the original Woodstock festival, and Prospect Park in the New York borough of Brooklyn.
