CHICAGO, May 10 (UPI) -- Rockers such as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Elton John are all scheduled for Chicago performances despite being at least 60 years old, experts say.
Rock critic Dave Marsh said aging rockers like 65-year-old Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones appear to have no immediate plans to retire as their performances still draw fans both young and old, the Chicago Tribune said Sunday.
"I don't think Mick Jagger's quitting until the last nickel is out of the hand of the last sucker," said Marsh, who hosts the "Kick Out the Jams" show on Sirius/XM Radio.
Gary Bongiovanni, editor in chief of the Pollstar concert-industry trade publication, agreed many aging rock stars are still enjoying lucrative touring careers.
"If you look at the ones that demand the highest prices, it's all acts that date back to the '60s and '70s," Bongiovanni said of popular acts.
The Tribune said Chicago is set to host Springsteen, 60, on Tuesday at the United Center and Joel, 60, and John, 62, are scheduled to perform together this summer at Wrigley Field.
Another notable aging rock band headed to Chicago this summer is Crosby, Stills and Nash, whose named members are 67, 64 and 67 respectively.
