LONDON, May 8 (UPI) -- The late musician, singer and songwriter George Harrison's handwritten lyrics to an unpublished song have gone on permanent display at the British Library.
The Times of London said Harrison penned the eight-line work of 67 words while he was still a member of The Beatles. If he wrote music to go with it, its whereabouts are unknown.
The song, estimated to be worth tens of thousands of dollars and authenticated by both Harrison's ex-wife and his widow, was rediscovered by Beatles' biographer Hunter Davies as he was going through his archive of Beatles' material. Davies has lent it to the library indefinitely and told The Times he intends to bequeath it to England when he dies.
"I asked all of the Beatles for examples of their handwriting and George gave me this," he said. "But a few months later, he gave me the lyrics to 'Blue Jay Way,' so I forgot all about it."
Harrison died of cancer in 2001.
