TORONTO, May 7 (UPI) -- Pop-country star Shania Twain tops HELLO! magazine's 2009 list of the 50 Most Beautiful Canadians.

The publication's special issue features numerous celebrity interviews and 50 pages of photos. It also marks the first "most beautiful" magazine compilation in Canada, Hello! said in a news release.

"What was hugely surprising is how many beautiful Canadians there are in the world," HELLO! Canada Editor-in-Chief Ciara Hunt said in a statement. "We wanted to celebrate individuals who have succeeded here and on the international stage. At one point, we had 150 beauties to whittle down to 50. No easy task, but so very exciting."

Twain's photo graces the cover of the special double issue.

"She has an alluring beauty that women warm to and men simply adore. Following the shocking news of her marriage break-up, she handled herself with grace and dignity. Shania has proven herself a great woman and

for this we applaud her," Hunt noted.

Some other Canadians who made HELLO!'s Most Beautiful list include Dr. Ruby Dhalla, Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Cattrall, Evangeline Lilly, The Four Tenors, "90210" stars Shenae Grimes, Jessica Lowdes, Dustin Milligan and Jason Priestley, Adam Beach, Avril Lavigne, Sidney Crosby and Measha Brueggergosman.
