BURBANK, Calif., May 3 (UPI) -- NBC says it has ordered 13 additional episodes of its midseason U.S. TV series "Southland" in preparation for its fall lineup announcement.

The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday the police drama was renewed by the TV network despite a slip in "Southland" ratings following a strong start on Thursday nights.

The fate of fellow midseason addition, "Parks and Recreation," remains a mystery in the days leading up to Monday's announcement of the network's fall line-up. But the Reporter said the comedy series starring Amy Poehler also is expected to be renewed.

Other NBC series currently on the bubble in terms of renewal are "Chuck," "Law & Order" and "Medium."

The NBC series are expected to earn at least partial renewals, if not full season orders, as are the network pilots "100 Questions for Charlotte Payne" "Trauma," "Community" and "Parenthood."

The Reporter said negotiations were under way for an additional season of the NBC comedy "My Name is Earl."
