Latin Grammys set for November in Vegas

MIAMI, April 30 (UPI) -- The 10th annual Latin Grammy Awards show is set to take place in November at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, organizers said.

The Nov. 5 event will mark the second time Las Vegas will have served as host of the international showcase of Latin music. The Latin Grammy Awards show previously has been held in Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York.

Latin Grammy Award nominations are to be announced Sept. 17.

"Celebrating the first decade of the Latin Grammy Awards is an extremely exciting moment for The Latin Recording Academy," Gabriel Abaroa, the Academy's president, said in a statement. "We have spent the last nine years forging partnerships, building a strong membership base and giving music fans truly amazing Latin Grammy moments. Following the success we have recently achieved, in this milestone year we are thrilled to bring back the telecast to Las Vegas' thriving music community, as well as work with our friends at Univision on another memorable Latin Grammy show."
