LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Professional dancer Julianne Hough says she won't return for the upcoming ninth edition of the U.S. television series "Dancing with the Stars."

Hough, a two-time "DWTS" winner, and her celebrity trainee and fiance Chuck Wicks were eliminated this week from Season 8 of the competition show.

"I'm not doing next season," Hough told TV's "Access Hollywood" after learning viewers gave her and Wicks the boot. "I'm gonna take one off."

In addition to being a dancer and television personality, Hough also recently started a country music career.

"We definitely went further than anticipated. I think he (Wicks) could have made it a little bit further," she said. "But you know what? It's the name of the game and it's about fan base and, hopefully, our country fans will follow us into music."
