Sean and Robin Wright Penn separate

LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) -- U.S. acting couple Sean and Robert Wright Penn have split up.

The double Oscar-winning actor and his wife have been married for 13 years and are the parents of two teenagers.

Usmagazine.com said Sean Penn filed for "legal separation with minor children" in court papers last Friday.

The couple previously filed for divorce in 2007, but reconciled and withdrew their petitions.

They made numerous appearances together during the 2008-09 film awards season when Sean Penn was recognized for his work in "Milk."
