LOS ANGELES, April 28 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Farrah Fawcett, who has been battling anal cancer, is gravely ill, sources told RadarOnline.com.
Fawcett, 62, is best known for her role in the 1970s TV show "Charlie Angels," as well as for a popular poster featuring her decked out in a red swimsuit and flashing a gorgeous smile.
RadarOnline.com reported Tuesday that Fawcett's "health deteriorated significantly" Monday night, prompting her longtime boyfriend Ryan O'Neal to take her back to her home in Westwood, Calif., where she has more resources to help her deal with her illness. She had been staying at O'Neal's Malibu dwelling, which he shared with their son Redmond until he was jailed recently on drug charges.
"Right now, Ryan and other close friends are staying by her side," a source told the entertainment news Web site.
Redmond reportedly was granted a several-hour leave from prison during the weekend to visit his mother.
