LOS ANGELES, April 25 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Jack Nicholson alleges in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County that a Hollywood producer owes him $1.2 million.

"The Departed" actor said in a Los Angeles County Superior Court suit he allegedly purchased Mark Canton's $1.2 million bank debt after the former Hollywood studio executive defaulted on a loan, TMZ.com reported Friday.

Specifics regarding the loan and lawsuit were not reported, but TMZ.com said Nicholson is also seeking interest from the loan in his lawsuit.
