LOS ANGELES, April 23 (UPI) -- USA Network announced Thursday it has greenlit "White Collar," a new series starring Tiffani Thiessen and Willie Garson.

Thiessen is best known for her work on TV's "Saved by the Bell," "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "What About Brian," while Garson appeared in "Sex and the City" and "John from Cincinnati."

"White Collar" is also set to co-star Matthew Bomer from "Chuck" and "Tru Calling," and Tim DeKay from

"Tell Me You Love Me" and "Carnivale."

The new series -- about the unlikely partnership of a con artist and an FBI agent who have been playing cat and mouse for years -- is to premiere with a 90-minute episode followed by 13 one-hour episodes. It will be shot on location in New York.

The announcement was made Thursday by Jackie de Crinis, USA's executive vice president of original scripted programming.

"'White Collar' is the perfect complement in our hot summer line-up of character-driven originals that continue to draw loyal audiences to USA Network," de Crinis said in a statement. "The strength of the show's lead characters, smart writing and crisp direction are key elements that we believe are the tentpoles of another compelling series."
