LOS ANGELES, April 22 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Rob Lowe has signed on to star in a television film adaptation of Ann Rule's novel "Too Late to Say Goodbye," Lifetime Movie Network said.

Lowe is best known for his work on TV's "The West Wing" and "Brothers and Sisters," as well as the movies "The Outsiders," "St. Elmo's Fire" and "About Last Night."

His latest project is based on the true story of an outwardly charming couple whose deceit and secret affairs result in fatal consequences. The telepicture is slated to premiere this August on Lifetime Movie Network.
