Emmy-winner Mikael Salomon, whose TV credits include "Band of Brothers," "The Andromeda Strain" and "The Company," is to direct.

Robinson and Salomon will serve as executive producers.

Heather Courtney, head of Overbrook Entertainment television, will oversee production.

"SCI FI is excited to begin development on 'Unfinished Business' with Overbrook Entertainment and Will Smith," said Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming for SCI FI and co-head of original content at Universal Cable Productions. "It is a compelling and thrilling drama that is perfect for our audience."

"Unfinished Business" is the story of an ex-cop who, after a brain injury, finds himself experiencing flashes of memories from the recently deceased. The experiences compel him to help these lost souls resolve their unfinished business, SCI FI said in a news release.
