Ellen Pompeo pregnant with first child

LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- Ellen Pompeo's publicist has confirmed the U.S. television actress is pregnant.

This will be Pompeo's first child with her music producer husband Chris Ivery, whom she married in November 2007.

"It's great news," Pompeo's representative Jennifer Allen told People magazine of the actress' pregnancy. "They're ecstatic."

Pompeo is best known for her co-starring role on TV's "Grey's Anatomy."
