The singer, who was a headliner for the annual festival, offered fans a wide range of his hits Friday including "Let Me Roll It," "Jet," "Hey Jude" and "Live and Let Die."

McCartney also remembered his late wife with a musical tribute dedicated to her memory, along with separate tributes to late Beatles greats John Lennon and George Harrison.

The Times said other acts on hand for Friday's opening of the three-day Coachella festival included the Crystal Method, Genghis Tron and Bajofondo.
