Beyonce announces N. American tour dates

Beyonce is set to bring her "I Am ..." world tour to North America, starting in June at New York's Madison Square Garden, Music World/Columbia Records said.

NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- Beyonce is set to bring her "I Am ..." world tour to North America, starting in June at New York's Madison Square Garden, Music World/Columbia Records said.

The recording artist is scheduled to wrap the North American leg of her tour with a four-night residence at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas July 30-Aug. 2. Stops in between the New York and Vegas gigs will include Washington; Philadelphia; Greensboro, N.C.; Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Atlanta; New Orleans; Houston; Dallas; Phoenix; Sacramento; Oakland, Calif.; Anaheim, Calif.; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; Chicago; Detroit; and Uncasville, Conn.

Tickets are to go on sale to the general public April 25 through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the four-night residence at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas will go on sale at a later date.

Beyonce is making 2,000 seats available at each venue for $20, plus applicable service charges. Beyonce is co-sponsoring food drives along her tour itinerary as part of the Show Your Helping Hand initiative, a national hunger relief campaign created by General Mills' Hamburger Helper in partnership with Beyonce and her Survivor Foundation, her record label said.
