LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- U.S actor Jamie Foxx apologized on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday for inappropriate remarks he made about 16-year-old Miley Cyrus on his radio show.

Foxx and his Foxxhole crew started verbally bashing Cyrus after someone called into Foxx's Sirius satellite show Sunday to criticize the teen singer-actress for vowing to "ruin" the rock band Radiohead for declining to meet with her at the Grammy Awards show in February.

Cyrus was referred to on the radio show as a "little white bitch" by one of Foxx's co-hosts, while Foxx advised Cyrus to "make a sex tape and grow up," "do some heroin" and "catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat."

"I so apologize to (Cyrus) and this is sincere," E! News quoted Foxx as saying on "Tonight." "I have a radio show ... We're really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it maliciously.

"You know I'm a comedian. You know my heart."

Looking directly into the camera, Foxx continued: "Miley, I apologize, so I'll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."

Foxx appeared on the show to promote his much buzzed about big-screen drama "The Soloist," in which he plays a brilliant, mentally ill musician.

Cyrus's "Hannah Montana: The Movie" was No. 1 at the box office when it opened last weekend.

Steve-O not bummed about 'DWTS' booting

LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- Former "Jackass" stuntman Steve-O said he's not bummed about being voted off of "Dancing with the Stars" in the U.S. show's sixth week of its eighth season.

"I don't have anything to be bummed out about," he told People magazine Tuesday night after learning he and professional dance partner Lacey Schwimmer had been booted.

"Last night was the first time I can say that my performance on television was better than any of the rehearsals leading up to it."

Steve-O likened himself to last season's fan favorite Cloris Leachman, 82, who managed to stay in the game despite woeful performances.

"It's so good to be the worst dancer and keep staying in," Steve-O said. "We lasted as long as Cloris Leachman over here."

Boyle: 'Talent' nerve-wracking at first

LONDON, April 15 (UPI) -- Scottish church volunteer Susan Boyle admits appearing on "Britain's Got Talent" last weekend was something of a nerve-wracking experience.

Boyle, a dowdy-looking 47-year-old woman, first was met with rolling eyes and snickers when she went on stage and earnestly declared her ambition to be a famous singer.

The snide reactions quickly turned to shocked expressions from the judges and thunderous applause from the audience, however, as she began her breathtaking rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables." Infamously sharp-tongued judge Simon Cowell beamed at Boyle during her performance and told her afterward that it was "extraordinary."

The BBC said Boyle's "Talent" appearance has already gotten more than 5 million hits on YouTube.

"I entered the competition because I wanted to have a chance at my singing," the British broadcaster quoted Boyle as saying. "I found it very nerve-wracking to begin with, but once I settled down and began to sing, I thought that the audience accepted me a bit more. Then I sort of relaxed and began to enjoy it."

Boyle, who is currently unemployed, said she began singing in choirs and school concerts when she was 12.

The BBC said U.S. actress Demi Moore and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, are already fans of Boyle, with Moore posting a message on YouTube that said: "It made me teary! ... This just made my night."

George Harrison gets star on Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- Paul McCartney and Tom Hanks attended the dedication ceremony for the late British musician George Harrison's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Harrison's wife Olivia and son Dhani also turned out for Tuesday's event as did U.S. rock 'n' roll singer Tom Petty, British comedian Eric Idle and hundreds of fans.

Harrison, who had been a member of the Beatles along with McCartney, died of lung cancer in 2001. He was 58.

The BBC quoted Idle as describing Harrison as a "remarkable person" with a "wonderful sense of humor," while Harrison's wife called her husband "a beautiful, mystical man living in a material world."

"George Harrison held the future in the guitar in his hands and it had six strings. Let us thank Leo Fender, who brought electricity to music," Hanks said. "Let us thank them all for bringing us George. Every record was an event, every cut was an opera, the entire story told ours. All things must pass, sure. But George is going to live forever."

The Beatles also share a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame and another deceased Beatle, John Lennon, like Harrison, has his own marker.
