SEOUL, April 11 (UPI) -- Australian star Hugh Jackman delighted fans in South Korea by dropping into their language during a promotional appearance in Seoul for "Wolverine."

Local officials named Jackman a goodwill ambassador for the South Korean capital Friday. Jackman and Daniel Henney, a Korean-American actor who broke into the business in South Korea, appeared together at a news conference, The Korea Times reported.

Jackman said he learned to love Korea through his father, who worked in the country for many years. He described his father as "the greatest ambassador for Korea."

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is a prequel to the "X-Men" films, based on the Marvel Comics series. Jackman said he enjoys playing Wolverine because he "does whatever he wants."

Henney plays the villain, a sniper. He said he enjoyed a role different from the romantic ones he has typically played in movies and TV shows in Asia.
