NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- A source close to Sarah Michelle Gellar says the U.S. actress is pregnant with her first child.

Gellar and actor Freddie Prinze Jr. have been married for six years and appeared together in two "Scooby-Doo" movies, as well as the thriller "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

"They're very excited," the source told People magazine, adding that Gellar is due to deliver their baby this fall.

Best known for her work as the titular heroine on TV's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Gellar is set to shoot a pilot for a possible HBO series "The Wonderful Maladays," of which she will also serve as an executive producer.

"She's All That" star Prinze Jr. recently appeared in the pilot "No Heroics" for ABC, People.com said.
