LONDON, April 8 (UPI) -- Jamie Waylett, a 19-year-old British actor who plays a supporting role in the "Harry Potter" movies, has been arrested for alleged cannabis possession.
Waylett plays bully Vincent Crabbe, character Draco Malfoy's henchman, in the film franchise.
A Scotland Yard spokesman told the BBC Wednesday the actor and a friend were arrested last week after police in London stopped the car in which they were riding.
"The car was searched and officers found eight bags of a substance believed to be cannabis," the police representative said.
Investigators conducting a subsequent search of Waylett's home allegedly found 10 plants, also believed to be marijuana.
"Officers found a number of plants believed to be cannabis plants and equipment for the cultivation," Scotland Yard told the BBC. "Both men have been bailed until July pending further inquiries and tests on the substances."
Warner Bros., the studio behind the "Potter" movies, declined to comment on the arrest, the British broadcaster said.
