NEW YORK, April 4 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Robert De Niro failed to pay his former nanny more than $40,000 worth of overtime work, a New York lawsuit alleges.

Alexis Barry alleges in a New York Supreme Court lawsuit against De Niro that she was never compensated for more than 750 hours of overtime work or for 10 vacations days while serving as a nanny for De Niro's 11-year-old son, Elliot, E! Online reported Friday.

Barry also alleges that after she threatened to quit her job, the 65-year-old actor fired her.

An unidentified representative for De Niro said he had not yet seen Barry's lawsuit, E! Online said.
