MUMBAI, April 3 (UPI) -- A group of Bollywood film producers says it plans to go on strike after failing to reach a profit-sharing deal with Indian multiplex owners.

The Press Trust of India said the film producers are to go on strike Saturday for an indefinite amount of time. The move reportedly will prevent the release of new movies into the theaters involved in the failed negotiations.

"Our demands are just; we want equal shares in profit sharing, which is the norm all over the world. The situation is not in our hands and we will proceed with the strike as planned," Mukesh Bhatt, chairman of the United Forum for Bollywood Producers and Distributors, told PTI.
