LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) -- U.S. television actor Andy Hallett has died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, his agent said. He was 33.

The Cape Cod, Mass. native is best known for his portrayal of the friendly, singing demon Lorne on TV's "Angel," a spinoff of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

The actor and musician's longtime agent and friend Pat Brady told E! Online Hallett's father Dave was with him when he died, following a five-year battle with heart disease.

A private funeral is expected to be held on Cape Cod this weekend for family and close friends, E! said.
