Jackson renting home near 'haunted' caves

LONDON, March 28 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Michael Jackson is renting a country house in the London suburbs near caves rumored to be haunted, a source says.

The unidentified source said representatives for Jackson agreed to pay $1.4 million to rent a home near the Chislehurst Caves in the suburban area of Bromley, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.

"His team signed up this week to stay there," the source said. "We're not sure if he knows about the caves but they're all around."

Jackson, 50, will stay in the British home while performing a series of 50 performances in London starting July 8.

The Telegraph said Jackson has asked concert organizers for an elephant to carry him onto the stage during the performances. In addition, the quirky singer has reportedly requested snakes, monkeys, tropical birds and a panther be added to his jungle-themed concert set.
