"Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" premieres in Los Angeles

NEW YORK, March 27 (UPI) -- U.S. TV network CBS has announced plans to start airing a 13-episode mystery series called "Harper's Island" next month.

The show is to premiere April 9 and the finale scheduled to be broadcast July 2.

CBS said "Harper's Island" is about a group of family and friends who travel to a secluded island for a destination wedding.

"As the wedding festivities begin, friendships are tested and secrets exposed as a murderer claims victims, one by one, transforming the wedding week of fun and celebration into a terrifying struggle for survival," the network said in a news release. "Every episode, someone is killed. Wedding guests and island locals... every person is a suspect. No one is safe. No one can be trusted. By the end of the 13 episodes, all questions will be answered, the killer will be revealed and only a few will survive."

The cast includes Matt Barr, Jim Beaver, Amber Borycki, Richard Burgi, Adam Campbell, Elaine Cassidy, Katie Cassidy, Dean Cechvala, Ben Cotton, Chris Gauthier, Christopher Gorham, Harry Hamlin, Gina Holden, David Lewis, Claudette Mink, Cameron Richardson, C.J. Thomason and Ali Liebert.
