NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- Mumbai-born actress Freida Pinto has been cast in Julian Schnabel's upcoming film adaptation of Rula Jebreal's book "Miral."
Pinto earned rave reviews for her work in the international hit "Slumdog Millionaire." She has since been cast in Woody Allen's as-yet-untitled next movie, which is to be filmed this summer in London.
Schnabel's directing credits include "Basquiat," "Before Night Falls" and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."
The New York Post said Schnabel is taking Pinto to Israel next month to start shooting "Miral," which he co-wrote with Jebreal.
