Former Gov. Blago to do radio show

CHICAGO, March 24 (UPI) -- The saga of disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is getting weirder with the impeached chief executive filling in for two Chicago radio hosts.

Blagojevich, who was removed from office by the Illinois Senate Jan. 29 after he was impeached by the state House, is scheduled to appear on WLS-AM between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Wednesday while talk hosts Don Wade and Roma are vacationing, The Chicago Tribune said.

The station offered Blagojevich a weekend shift job in January if he agreed to resign, but he didn't before he was impeached. Blagojevich already has a six-figure book deal.

Blagojevich's guests will include cast members of The Second City comedy troupe, which has a hit satirical musical "Rod Blagojevich Superstar," spoofing the scandal-scarred politician's troubles.

Joey Bland, who plays Blago in the musical, will be joined on the live radio show by the fake Illinois Sen. Roland Burris, fake Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the fake Chicago Alderman Dick Mel.

In real-life, Mel is Blago's father-in-law.

The Second City show reopens Thursday night at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier.
