NEW YORK, March 22 (UPI) -- New York state tax officials say they have seized a sport utility vehicle from rapper Method Man over unpaid taxes.

The New York Post reported Sunday the 2008 Lincoln Navigator confiscated by state officials belonged to Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith, because he owes $52,503 in personal income taxes.

The vehicle reportedly was seized Wednesday from the Wu-Tang Clan member's home in Staten Island.

In addition to his successful music career, Smith has appeared in such movies as "Belly" and "How High," along with TV series including "Burn Notice" and "The Wire."
