NEW YORK, March 23 (UPI) -- A group of friends and family of Natasha Richardson gathered in New York to remember the late British film actress, an attendee said.
People.com said among those at Friday's wake at the American Irish Historical Society in New York were Richardson's husband, actor Liam Neeson, and her mother, actress Vanessa Redgrave.
Mathilde Krim, a friend of Richardson, said the somber affair that included a viewing of Richardson's body was conducted respectfully.
Richardson, known for her roles in movies such as "Evening" and "The White Countess," died Wednesday after suffering a severe head injury in a skiing accident Monday in Canada.
Neeson and Richardson, who were married in 1994, have two sons, Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12.
The Times of London said Neeson's film career is on hold as he deals with his wife's death.
The newspaper said Neeson left the set of Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan's "Chloe" to be with his dying wife and no date has been reported regarding his possible return.
