LONDON, March 19 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince William has revealed that as a boy he wanted to be a police officer, The Sun newspaper reported.

Asked by a 10-year-old cancer patient, identified only as Alice, what he would be if he wasn't a royal, the 26-year-old prince replied: "A long time ago, I wanted to be a policeman. I soon learned that probably wasn't a good idea."

During his visit to London's Royal Marsden Hospital, which aired on the BBC's "Newsround" program, William also joked about how he could best his younger brother Harry in an arm wrestling competition and referred to the mark on his temple as his "Harry Potter" scar, explaining it was sustained when a friend accidentally whacked him with a golf club, The Sun said.

"It glows sometimes and people notice it," the prince quipped.
