LOS ANGELES, March 16 (UPI) -- Charlie Sheen's publicist said the U.S. television star's wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, has given birth to twin boys.

People magazine said babies Max and Bob were born Saturday night, a few weeks before they were due.

They are the first children for the couple, who married in May 2008.

Sheen also has three children from two previous marriages.

"They're doing great," Sheen's representative Stan Rosenfield told People about Sheen's two youngest offspring. "And Brooke's doing great."

Rosenfield went on to describe the "Two and a Half Men" actor as "ecstatic" about the births.

"He's a family man -- now he has three daughters and two sons. He's a wonderful father," Rosenfield said.
