Barton joining CW pilot 'Beautiful'

LOS ANGELES, March 14 (UPI) -- British actress Mischa Barton will star in "A Beautiful Life," a dramatic pilot to be offered by the CW network, an industry source says.

The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday the 23-year-old actress will play a veteran supermodel named Sonja in the show about the lives of several models sharing a New York residence.

Barton is no stranger to the fashion industry, having worked as a model for Calvin Klein, Monsoon Accessorize, Dooney & Bourke and others.

Barton gained fame on the defunct FOX teen drama "The O.C." in which she starred as Marissa Cooper.

The Reporter said Barton also had been considered for the upcoming CW drama "Melrose Place," but nothing became of that casting possibility.
