NEW YORK, March 11 (UPI) -- "Grey's Anatomy" star Chandra Wilson will play Matron Mama Morton in "Chicago," representatives for the long-running Broadway revival said.
The three-time Emmy Award nominee will join the production for a limited engagement June 8 through July 5 at the Ambassador Theatre in New York.
A Houston native, Wilson began performing in musicals at the age of 5 with Theatre Under the Stars and went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she spent four years training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She has appeared in the Broadway productions of "Caroline, or Change," "Avenue Q" and "On the Town," as well as in the movies "Lone Star" and "Philadelphia."
