LONDON, March 10 (UPI) -- More than 1 million people have registered to buy tickets to Michael Jackson's upcoming London concerts, the BBC reported.
Tickets to the series of 10 shows -- scheduled to take place at the O2 Arena on July 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 26 and 28 -- are to go on sale for those who pre-registered Wednesday for between $69 and $103, plus booking fees. The remaining tickets are to go on sale to the general public Friday.
Jackson, who last toured 12 years ago, has described the shows as his final curtain call in London.
Promoter Randy Phillips told the BBC the demand for tickets to the rare performances has "exceeded our wildest expectations."
"We are making show business history here," Phillips said. "This is the last chance to see Michael Jackson in London, we are doing everything we can to ensure as many fans as possible can be a part of the experience."
