HOUSTON, March 8 (UPI) -- Tejano singer Emilio Navaira has paid the bond on a driving while intoxicated warrant related to a 2008 crash of his tour bus in Texas, records show.

The San Antonio Express-News reported Saturday that, according to Harris County jail records, the "Life is Good" singer responded to a misdemeanor warrant signed by a judge Friday by paying the corresponding non-arrest bond.

The amount of Navaira's bond payment was not reported.

Jail records also showed the Tejano singer is due in court Friday over the crash of his tour bus last Easter morning.

Authorities have claimed Navaira, 46, had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent last March 23 when he crashed his tour bus while driving home from a Houston performance. The singer suffered life-threatening brain injurie, while several members of his band were also hurt.

The county official who prepared the related warrant told the Express-News the crash investigation prompted a nearly year-long delay into charges being filed against Navaira.
