CHICAGO, March 7 (UPI) -- The official start of U2's U.S. tour will be a performance at Soldier Field in Chicago, an official close to the Irish rock group says.

The unidentified spokesman for the band's Principal Management in Dublin said the tour's kick-off performance at the Chicago Bears' home stadium will be Sept. 12, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

The newspaper said, according to a Billboard magazine report, tickets for the performance will go on sale this month with prices ranging between $30 and $250.

U2 is touring the United States, and internationally, to promote the group's newest studio album, "No Line on the Horizon."
