NEW YORK, March 3 (UPI) -- The New York-set police drama "Life on Mars" isn't being renewed for a second season, multiple sources told EW.com.

Entertainment Weekly said on its Web site that ABC recently told the show's producers it won't be ordering a second season, however, the producers should have enough time to wrap up the show in way that satisfies its fans.

The series is based on a British show by the same name in which a modern-day police detective finds himself transported back to the 1970s.

The U.S. version stars Jason O'Mara, Harvey Keitel, Gretchen Mol and Michael Imperioli.
