NEW YORK, March 2 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian/actor Andrew Dice Clay became the first contestant fired on the latest edition of "Celebrity Apprentice" Sunday night.

Joan Rivers emerged victorious in the season premiere, raising $126,000 for her charity.

NBC said the remaining 15 contestants will regroup for their next challenge to create and costume a comic book character for Zappos.com with the help of Image Comics. A Zappos.com executive will choose the team that creates the best character, and Donald Trump will fire another celebrity with counsel from his son Donald Trump Jr. and CNBC's Erin Burnett in next Sunday's episode, the network said.

Clint Black, Annie Duke, Tom Green, Natalie Gulbis, Scott Hamilton, Jesse James, Claudia Jordan, Khloe Kardashian, Brian McKnight, Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers, Brande Roderick, Dennis Rodman, Herschel Walker and Tionne Watkins are the remaining celebrities still vying to be "The Celebrity Apprentice."
