LOS ANGELES, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. television personality Ed McMahon has been hospitalized for nearly a month and is in extremely serious condition, TMZ said Friday.

The 85-year-old, former "Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" sidekick and "Star Search" host is in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital where he is being treated for bone cancer, pneumonia and other heath issues, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

"It's not great, to say the least," a source close to McMahon told TMZ about his condition.
