LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to play himself in a cameo in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming movie, "The Expendables," E! News said.

Set to begin shooting March 28 in Brazil, the action flick is written by Stallone, who will also star in and direct it.

The cast also includes Stallone's "Rocky IV" nemesis, Dolph Lundgren, as well as Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Jet Li and Forest Whitaker.

Schwarzenegger, 61, has appeared in small roles in only three other movies -- "The Rundown," "Around the World in 80 Days" and "The Kid & I" -- since he took office in 2003.

However, E! News said there are rumors that he might also be seen in "Terminator Salvation" this summer.

"The Terminator," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" were some of the biggest hits of Schwarzenegger's career.
