LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- French filmmaker Michel Gondry has signed on to direct "Green Hornet," a big-screen comic-book adaptation starring comic actor Seth Rogen, Variety.com said.
Rogen is to play the title character and co-wrote the screenplay for the film with Evan Goldberg. The movie is slated to go in to production later this year, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
Rogen is best known for his roles in comedies like "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Knocked Up" and "Pineapple Express."
Gondry, who most recently completed "Tokyo," has also directed the films "Be Kind Rewind" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
