MEMPHIS, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Actress Sandra Bullock dropped by Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis to research her role in the movie "The Blind Side," the Memphis Commercial-Appeal said.

Bullock is playing Leigh Anne Tuohy in the big-screen adaptation of Michael Lewis' book about former Briarcrest student Michael Oher, who left his impoverished life and went to live with Tuohy and her husband, Sean, ultimately becoming a successful football player.

The newspaper said she was at the school Monday doing research for her part.

Oher finished his eligibility at the University of Mississippi this year and is expected to be in demand in the upcoming NFL draft, the Commercial-Appeal said.

Bullock's film credits include "Speed," "Crash," "Hope Floats" and "Miss Congeniality."
