LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- British-born actress Naomi Watts has signed on for a role in Woody Allen's upcoming, as-yet-untitled film, Variety.com said Monday.
Watts, who can now be seen in the thriller "The International," will be joining a cast that includes Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in the Allen picture.
Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish actress to win an Oscar for lead actress Sunday for her work in Allen's most recent movie, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
Allen's "Vicky" follow-up, "Whatever Works," is slated for release in June.
Watts, who starred in "The Ring," "21 Grams" and "King Kong," is currently working on the film "Mother and Child."
