'Slumdog' child stars to attend Oscars

MUMBAI, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Two of the young Indian stars of "Slumdog Millionaire" are to attend the Oscars in Los Angeles, where the film is up for best picture, the BBC said.

The Mumbai-set rags-to-riches movie is nominated for nine other Oscars, as well, and has already collected numerous guild, Golden Globe and BAFTA awards.

The BBC said Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, who are from Mumbai's slums, are flying to Los Angeles and plan to walk the red carpet Sunday, along with some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
