WASHINGTON, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Socks, a former stray cat who made it to the White House, died Friday at the age of 20, former President Bill and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
The ex-first feline, who lived with the Clinton family at the governor's mansion in Arkansas before moving with the Clintons to the White House, had been battling throat cancer since November and couldn't stand up anymore. After he stopped eating, he was euthanized in Maryland Friday morning.
